ITU CWDM / DWDM Channels Guide
ITU CWDM / DWDM Channels Guide
DWDM/CWDM Wavelength Guide
CWDM (Coarse Wavelength Multiplexing) and DWDM (Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing) allow telecommunications companies to provide more services through their existing fiber infrastructure by combining multiple wavelengths on a single fiber. Everiont offers a range of CWDM/DWDM solutions and products that help you reduce your existing fiber usage in a reliable and cost-effective way.
Overview of ITU CWDM channels
ITU-T G.694.2 defines 18 wavelengths for CWDM transmission from 1270 to 1610 nm with 20 nm spacing. The wavelength of the complete CWDM network is shown in the figure below. Each CWDM channel is transparent in terms of speed and data type, meaning that any combination of SAN, WAN, voice and video services can be transmitted simultaneously over a single fiber or fiber pair.
